Eileen Boyd started her artistic career at two years of age by making mud pots in the backyard and letting them dry in the sun.  Alter high school she studied art for three years in Newfoundland, and then moved to Nova Scotia to study at the Nova Scotia College of Art and Design.   Over the years Eileen has taught drawing as well as painting.  The majority of her current paintings are acrylic on board, but she also works in oil and watercolor.  For Eileen, painting is like meditation.  However, she also enjoys working with materials like paper, concrete, metal and stone which involve stomping, cutting, hammering and jumping up and down: certainly not meditative work.  You can visit her web site or visit her studio at 1976 Hall Road, Berwick, Nova Scotia.
