What is a Peer Supporter?
Someone who has a basic understanding of the problems and struggles of other CSA survivors because they have experienced this, in some form, in their own life.
Someone who has a desire to assist others on their healing journey and through training has acquired the skills and information to enable them to support at a peer level.
S.O.A.R. has both female and male peer supporters qualified and available to provide the services to survivors. of all genders.
How to access a Peer Supporter?
Confidential Peer Support is available to all genders of adult survivors of childhood sexual abuse. A survivor can make a self-referral or have the help of a doctor, therapist, clergy, family member or friend, etc. To obtain a peer supporter, call 902-679-PEER (7337)
